We are committed to providing a wide array of professional development opportunities to individuals with any level of experience or exposure to working in arts, nonprofit, or philanthropic organizations.
Training the next generation of arts nonprofit professionals
Interns receive hands-on experience with guidance and mentorship from Art Bridges staff across departments, from Partner Loan Network and Traveling Exhibitions to Learning & Engagement, Marketing & Communications, and more.
Through workshops, creative career chats, and hands-on learning opportunities, interns expand upon their academic training and apply their knowledge and skills to Art Bridges projects. Interns work approximately 10-15 hours per week during the academic year and 35 hours per week over the summer.
Art Bridges is committed to a diverse workforce and to providing training for the next generation of arts nonprofit professionals. Students from historically underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

Frequently asked questions
The experience of our interns varies based on their department and mentor, but all Art Bridges interns engage in professional development, networking opportunities, and creative career chats featuring notable arts professionals across the field. Past speakers include Brooke Lampley, Vice Chairman of Fine Arts, Sotheby’s; Jason Herrick, Chief Philanthropy Office, The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Nisa Mackie, Director of Learning & Audience Engagement, MoMA; Allison Glenn, Senior Curator, Public Art Fund. Interns also develop and deliver presentations about their experiences and accomplishments at the conclusion of their internship.

Art Bridges interns receive firsthand experience in the day-to-day operations of their department and learn how to navigate professional settings while gaining valuable insight into the role of nonprofit organizations, foundations, and museums. Interns are paid hourly (please refer to the job description) and are eligible for course credit. Summer interns also receive travel and housing support.
When applying for an Art Bridges internship, you will need to submit your resume and a cover letter (a writing sample is optional). Applicants must be currently enrolled in a university degree program at the undergraduate or graduate level, or recent graduates (within the previous year) who have an interest in entering the workforce as an emerging arts professional. We do not require prior internship experience or an art-related major. We encourage applicants with any range of experience to apply!
